Crumble noodles over slaw & onion mix. Put flavor packet from Ramen noodles in small pan with ½ C. vinegar, ¼ C oil, 1 C. sugar, 1 t. salt, ½ t. pepper. Cook until sugar dissolves. Set aside to cool. In a small skillet, toast 2 t. sesame seeds (optional) and ½ C sliced almonds in butter (1 T.) Set aside to cool. Just before serving, combine everything & toss. Note: I always try to make the cooked dressing the night before or at least early enough that you can refrigerate it so it’s cold before serving. Then I mix the slaw mix, crumbled noodles, onions, and almonds, and pour the dressing over it just before serving. (Does not keep well, gets soggy.) |
